This has been an incredibly helpful service! Dr. Freedman and his staff have been very accomodating and attentive to my mental health needs. My health insurance did not adequately cover mental health, so the convenience of this app was a huge draw. As someone who works six days a week, I felt that the telehealth approach was the best option for me. The team offers around the clock service. I couldn’t be happier with the service they provided!

Truly an amazing and innovative service. Every message I've ever sent has been answered within a few hours and Dr. Freedman is the best psychiatrist I've ever encountered. Extremely intelligent and really cares about your well being. I was initially skeptical of this approach, as it seemed to good to be true, but the medium truly makes your psychiatrist available at the click of a button. I never do reviews, but Dr. Freedman and his assistant, Emily, coupled with his uniquely reachable format made me feel like I needed to tell others needing a psychiatrist about just how great this service is-especially compared to traditional models! 10/10 for both care and ingenuity!

Dr. Freedman is the best psychiatrist I've encountered so far. He really seems like he's providing this service to try and help his patients, not to advance his career or make money off it-- he gives you time to try out his approach and the website and see if it's working for you, and if it isn't, you aren't charged. He is very knowledgable about the field and understanding of your concerns and needs. I had a video chat evaluation/consultation with him that included a mental health questionnaire (the same kind of evaluation form you fill out in a psychiatrist's office) and an hour-long session. Dr. Freedman usually replies to messages you send within a few minutes to an hour (the format is kind of like Facebook messenger) and if you need to make a video chat appointment he is available very soon after you ask-- same day, next day, anytime that's convenient. He listens and allows you to talk when you need to, and he works together with you to figure out what parts of your past and present could be affecting how you feel and how any prescriptions you're taking could be part of it as well. He pulls all the pieces of what you tell him together to help you make sense of what you're feeling and experiencing, and he helps you see yourself in a different lens. I have major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder and he helped me see that the way I react to certain triggers are actually a distorted way of thinking, which now that I'm conscious of, it's easier to control. Video chat with him was a very helpful experience; he is very professional and it feels like talking to a real person (as opposed to a chat conversation), but without the pressure of being in a physical room. Just trying it out, it's a great way to see if it's right for you-- and if it's not, Dr. Freedman helps you figure out what will be right for you going forward so that you feel taken care of in the future even if it's not under his care as your psychiatrist, which is both useful and comforting. The service is on the pricier side, so it's not for you if you're looking for something that's very affordable (healthpiper is $199 for the initial evaluation and then $99 a month for any prescription medication you need, plus ongoing counseling if you ask for it-- which costs more). The website is a little simplistic and could use some refinement to make it look a little more useful, but it works well for what it is. If you need great professional help with your mental health or medication issues and you can afford to pay for it, I definitely recommend Dr. Freedman's service-- it's convenient, there's no waiting rooms, no waiting weeks for an appointment, and he gives you straightforward and honest answers to all your questions. An excellent doctor as far as I've gotten to work with him.

If you have a very busy and stressful work schedule that tends to have unforeseen OT and weekend work, and have difficulty scheduling appointments with a medical provider, Healthpiper is a great alternative for you to consider. Of course it's a rather new form of therapy that might not work for everyone, so I can only speak from my perspective. It suits my lifestyle much better than traditional situations and I benefited from this service. Dr. Freedman and the assistants are attentive and professional, and will give you the help and advice in appropriate measures (not intruding, which is an important factor for me). The ability to message your doctor and get a response within hours is perhaps the best feature of Healthpiper. The pricing scheme is transparent and straightforward, and they always give you a head-up to make sure you are happy with the service before charging. I really appreciate their effort to make everything other than getting well simple. I hope you can also find the help you need!
